Prerequisites
I expect you to have a strong background in algebra and some basic knowledge of algebraic geometry (like affine schemes).
Content
Finite group schemes are ubiquitous in arithmetic geometry. The lecture will start with an introduction to the general theory. Afterwards we will focus on the classification of finite group schemes over a perfect field of positive characteristic by means of Dieudonné theory. The main technical tool will be the group of Witt (co)vectors.
