Dustin Clausen: A new notion of quasicoherent sheaf in algebraic geometry
ESAGA Oberseminar, Thu, Jan. 9, 2020
Abstract: I will describe some joint work with Peter Scholze in which we define a new, broader notion of quasicoherent sheaf in the setting of algebraic geometry. The basic idea on affines is to allow certain topological modules over the (discrete) coordinate ring, but to obtain a well-functioning theory we have to modify the notion of topological module, and even that of topological space, replacing it by “condensed set”.
